MEET ROB
Passionate | Responsive | Accountable
Rob has lived in Calgary his entire life, including eight years in Haysboro and six in Willow Park, where he and his wife make their home. Rob attended SAIT and earned a Business Management Diploma before moving on to the University of Lethbridge and obtaining his Bachelor of Business Management with a major in Marketing. Rob has worked in the oil and gas, retail, sales, tech and non-profit industries throughout his career. Rob’s professional, public service and personal life is driven by three core values.
Passionate about Community
Rob grew up in a family dedicated to community initiatives. Rob’s six years on the committee of the Willow Park Charity Golf Classic, which has recruited more than 9,000 volunteers and raised more than $13.3 million for more than 35 charities in Calgary since its founding in 1987, illustrates a noteworthy dedication to improving the lives of Calgarians in need.
Responsive public service focused on results
Rob listens. While our diverse communities reflect an assortment of views, values and objectives, Rob is dedicated to finding common ground that best serves all citizens, and the unique characteristics within our communities. In its simplest form, Rob's foundational focus is to ensure The City of Calgary delivers core services:
- Good roads, efficient traffic movement, and safe transit.
- Reliable electricity and drinking water, and environmentally sound waste management.
- Adequate policing to ensure community safety, and fire prevention and responsiveness.
- Healthy parks and accessible recreation.
- Fair taxation, public investment that creates value, and responsible city planning and development.

Communities are naturally diverse, and communities, like individuals, have the right to define the development character of their homes, streets and parks. Blanket city rezoning declarations that fail to honour community wishes do not serve community members.
Accountable
Rob believes in being accountable to yourself, your family, and your community. Rob understands that learning from past successes and shortfalls, while demonstrating accountability and transparency, is critical to improving team and individual performance. Rob expects to be held accountable by voters, and he expects the same from those he works with.
Rob believes that our city is rich in knowledge, talent, experience and accomplishment. While Rob has diverse skills and experience, he understands that successful leadership requires recruiting and deploying the most talented and competent players to roles where optimal goals are achieved. Rob cherishes opportunities to meet with and connect with others in the community who are equally passionate and keen to make Ward 11 and Calgary a better place to live, work and play.
Rob is dedicated to ensuring that Calgarians find the freedom and opportunity to pursue their personal dreams, where city government fosters and supports those dreams without unncessecary interference, allowing individuals to thrive and succeed.
